Below ground & external works

Infrastructure & Earthworks

The work that gets buried, done by the crew that will still be there when it is covered up.

NRGC carries out excavation and earthworks, shoring and dewatering, below-ground drainage and sewage networks, utility trenching, roads, interlock paving and kerbstones. The company delivered the industrial sanitation and sewage network at Jeddah Industrial Area 2, and road and bridge construction has been part of its work since the business was founded.

External works are judged on two things: whether the levels are right and whether the buried services were laid properly before the backfill went in. We delivered the industrial sanitation and sewage network at Jeddah Industrial Area 2 — trench, shoring, large-diameter pipe, precast manholes and reinstatement — and road and bridge construction has been part of the company’s work since it started.

We hold a bobcat, six water pumps and 3,000 steel props on our own asset list, so trench support and dewatering do not wait on a hire company when a section has to be opened, laid and closed inside a day.

Questions

About this service

Has NRGC delivered a sewage network?

Yes. The industrial sanitation and sewage network at Jeddah Industrial Area 2 was delivered by NRGC, covering trench excavation and shoring, large-diameter pipe laying and jointing, precast manhole chambers and backfill.

Does NRGC own its excavation plant?

We own a bobcat, six water pumps, four water tanks, two diesel generators and 3,000 steel props outright. Larger excavators and compaction plant are brought in per project against the quantities, and that hire sits in our price rather than being passed through as a variation.

Can NRGC take external works as a separate package?

Yes. Roads, hardstanding, interlock, kerbs and buried services are regularly let as a standalone package after the building is topped out, and we take them on that basis as well as inside a full contract.
